Cool tip from Jeff Witchel, Adobe Certified Trainer

I love it when one of my students comes up with a tip because it means I'm doing my job as a teacher. In a training session the other day, we were discussing the Align panel and how to distribute objects. One student raised her hand and asked, “Can the Align panel be used to Distribute Ruler Guides?” I answered, “I'm sure it can, but I never thought about trying it.” “Let's give it a try,” I told the class. “Turn on your Rulers (Command+R [Control+R on PC]) if they're not already showing, and also Unlock Guides if they're Locked (View>Guides>Lock Guides to uncheck). Now click on the vertical Ruler and drag off five or six Guides. To select these Guides, click and drag across them with the Selection tool (V). Make sure the Spacing amount in the Distribute section of the Align panel is set to Auto, and then press the Distribute Horizontal Space button. All Guides are now distributed evenly across the page. Very cool! You can re-lock the Guides, if you'd like, under the View menu.
